Noah and the Flood

9 This is the account of Noah and his family.

Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked faithfully with God. 10 Noah had three sons: Shem, Ham and Japheth.

11 Now the earth was corrupt in God’s sight and was full of violence.12 God saw how corrupt the earth had become, for all the people on earth had corrupted their ways. 13 So God said to Noah, “I am going to put an end to all people, for the earth is filled with violence because of them.

신이 보았어. 땅이 부패한걸. 땅위 모든 사람들이 자기들 사는 방식들을 더럽혀서리. 신이 노아에게 말을 해. 모든 사람들을 끝으로 몰겠다고. 땅이 그 사람들때문에 파괴로 가득차있걸랑

24 The waters flooded the earth for a hundred and fifty days.

8 But God remembered Noah and all the wild animals and the livestock that were with him in the ark, and he sent a wind over the earth, and the waters receded. 2 Now the springs of the deep and the floodgates of the heavens had been closed, and the rain had stopped falling from the sky. 3 The water receded steadily from the earth. At the end of the hundred and fifty days the water had gone down, 4 and on the seventeenth day of the seventh month the ark came to rest on the mountains of Ararat. 5 The waters continued to recede until the tenth month, and on the first day of the tenth month the tops of the mountains became visible.

물이 넘쳤어 땅에. 백일 더하기 오십일.

신이 노아와 방주의 동물들이 생각이 난겨. 아 그만하다. 바람을 보내고 물을 잠궜어.

열달 째의 첫날에 산들의 꼭대기가 보이기 시작했대.

After forty days Noah opened a window he had made in the ark 7 and sent out a raven, and it kept flying back and forth until the water had dried up from the earth. 8 Then he sent out a dove to see if the water had receded from the surface of the ground. 9 But the dove could find nowhere to perch because there was water over all the surface of the earth; so it returned to Noah in the ark. He reached out his hand and took the dove and brought it back to himself in the ark. 10 He waited seven more days and again sent out the dove from the ark. 11 When the dove returned to him in the evening, there in its beak was a freshly plucked olive leaf! Then Noah knew that the water had receded from the earth. 12 He waited seven more days and sent the dove out again, but this time it did not return to him.

그리고 사십일 후에 방주의 창문을 열었어. raven. 까마귀.를 한마리 날렸어. 앉을 자리가 없으니 돌아온겨. 비둘기 한마리를 날렸어. 돌아왔어 역시.

길가메쉬 서사시.

자기가 홍수 겪은 이야길 해줘

‘You know the city Shurrupak, it stands on the banks of Euphrates? That city grew old and the gods that were in it  were old. There was Anu,-lord of the firmament, their father, and warrior Enlil their counsellor, Ninurta the helper, and  Ennugi watcher over canals; and with them also was Ea. In those days the world teemed, the people multiplied, the world  bellowed like a wild bull, and the great god was aroused by the clamour. Enlil heard the clamour and he said to the gods in  council, "The uproar of mankind is intolerable and sleep is no longer possible by reason of the babel." So the gods agreed  to exterminate mankind. Enlil did this, but Ea because of his oath warned me in a dream. He whispered their words to my  house of reeds, "Reed-house, reed-house! Wall, O wall, hearken reed-house, wall reflect; O man of Shurrupak, son of  Ubara-Tutu; tear down your house and build a boat, abandon possessions and look for life, despise worldly goods and save  your soul alive. Tear down your house, I say, and build a boat. These are the measurements of the barque as you shall  build her: let hex beam equal her length, let her deck be roofed like the vault that covers the abyss; then take up into the  boat the seed of all living creatures."   ‘When 1 had understood I said to my lord,   "Behold, what you have commanded I will honour  and perform, but how shall I answer the people, the  city, the elders?" Then Ea opened his mouth and said  to me, his servant, "Tell them this: I have learnt that  Enlil is wrathful against me, I dare no longer walk in  his land nor live in his city; I will go down to the  Gulf to dwell with Ea my lord. But on you he will  rain down abundance, rare fish and shy wild-fowl, a  rich harvest-tide. In the evening the rider of the storm  will bring you wheat in torrents."

anu. 아누. 하늘의 신이자 아버지. 전사의 신. 엔릴. 도와주는 신 니누르타. 수로를 보는 신 엔누기. 그리고 에아. ea 라는 신이 있었어.

당시 세상이 풍요로왔대. 해서 사람들이 막막 생산되서리 많은겨. 아 아주 시끄러운겨. 하늘의 신이 시끄러워서리 깨신겨. 엔릴.도 역시 시끄러운 소리들을 들은겨. 회의에서 신들에게 얘길 한거지.

저 인간들이 넘쳐나는 지경이 참을 수 없을 정도네 이거. 이 시끄러워서리 잠을 잘 수가 있나.

신들이 의견일치를 본거지. 인간들을 싸그리 죽이기로. 엔릴도 동의하고. 헌데 에아.ea 신이 나 우트나피시팀.한테 온겨. 에아.신도 동의를 햇지만. 나한테만 몰래 알려줬어 꿈에서. 보트.를 만들어라 이러저런 크기로 세상 모든 씨앗들을 실어 그 보트에.

‘With the first light of dawn a black cloud came from the horizon; it thundered within where Adad, lord of the  storm was riding. In front over hill and plain Shullat and Hanish, heralds of the storm, led on. Then the gods of the  abyss rose up; Nergal pulled out the dams of the nether waters, Ninurta the war-lord threw down the dykes, and the  seven judges of hell, the Annunaki, raised their torches, lighting the land with their livid flame. A stupor of despair  went up to heaven when the god of the storm turned daylight to darkness, when he smashed the land like a cup. One  whole day the tempest raged, gathering fury as .it went, it poured over the people like the tides of battle; a imam  could not see his brother nor the people be seen from heaven. Even the gods were terrified at the flood, they fled to  the highest heaven, the firmament of Ann; they crouched against the walls, cowering like curs. Then Ishtar the  sweet-voiced Queen of Heaven cried out like a woman in travail: "Alas the days -of old are turned to dust because I  commanded evil; why did I command thus evil in the council of all the gods? I commanded wars to destroy the  people, but are they not my people, for I brought them forth? Now like the spawn of fish they float in the ocean."  The great gods of heaven and of hell wept, they covered their mouths.

헌데 정작 신들조차 무서워하는겨. 왜 대체 무슨 짓을 한거지 하면서.

‘For six days and six nights the winds blew, torrent and tempest and flood overwhelmed the world, tempest  and flood raged together like warring hosts. When the seventh day dawned the storm from the south subsided, the  sea grew calm, the, flood was stilled; I looked at the face of the world and there was silence, all mankind was turned  to clay. The surface of the sea stretched as flat as a roof-top; 1 opened a hatch and the light fell on my face. Then I  bowed low, I sat down and I wept, the tears streamed down my face, for on every side was the waste of water. I  looked for land in vain, but fourteen leagues distant there appeared a mountain, and there the boat grounded; on the  mountain of Nisir the boat held fast, she held fast and did not budge. One day she held, and -a second day on the  mountain of Nisir she held fast and did not budge. A third day, and a fourth day she held fast on the mountain and  did not budge; a fifth day and a sixth day she held fast on the mountain. When the seventh day dawned I loosed a  dove and let her go. She flew away, but finding no resting-place she returned. Then I loosed a swallow, and she flew  away but finding no resting-place she returned. I loosed a raven, she saw that the waters had retreated, she ate, she  flew around, she cawed, and she did not come back.

저기선 육일 밤낮을 바람이 불었대. 칠일째 잠잠해졌대. 저기서 league 는 마일. 키로. 같은 거리 단위이고.

노아의 방주에선 처음에 까마귀.를 날리잖아. 길가메쉬.에선 처음엔 비둘기. 다음엔 제비. 마지막에 까마귀를 날렸어. 까마귀는 안돌아오고. 노아에선 비둘기가 올리브 이파리 물어주고 안돌아오고.

아트라하시스. 버전은 좀 다르고. 그리스신화의 데우칼리온.의 방주이야기도 좀 다르고.

해도 저게 기원전 1600년으로 봐 스탠다드 버전은.

길가메쉬.는 한글 번역이랑 저 영어 번역이랑 좀 다른데 판 번역이 다르니까.

죽은 엔키두.가 언더월드 갔다가 와서리 언더월드 이야길 해주는 판이 있는데.
